Catherine Geddings Bagnal

Mrs. Catherine Geddings Bagnal, 78, of Mount Airy, died Sunday morning, April 20, 2008, at her home after a valiant struggle with cancer. Mrs. Bagnal was born May 26, 1929, in Clarendon County, SC, daughter of the late Luther Parker and Geneva Wise Geddings. She was the last surviving member of her family of one boy and four girls. Catherine worked as a part-time legal secretary and a full-time homemaker. Her life was centered on her family and friends. Mrs. Bagnal was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, the Rev. Tom Bagnal of the home; three daughters, Cathy Bagnal Rives and her husband, Wilborn, of Mount Airy, Leslie Bagnal Peavy and her husband, Bradley, of Burlington, and Libby Bagnal Pell and her husband, Jimbo of Mount Airy; a son, Ben Bagnal III of Mount Airy; ten grandchildren, Issac Rives, Catherine Rives, Robbie Rives, Will Rives, Elizabeth Peavy, Alex Peavy, Grace Peavy, Eric Peavy, Laura Pell, and Lizzie Pell; and three nieces. A service of celebration of Catherine's life will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Steve Lindsley will be the officiating minister. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:30 PM in the fellowship hall of the church. Interment will take place in the Geddings Family Cemetery in Alcolu, SC.
