Catherine Tiffin Spainhour

Catherine Tiffin Spainhour, age 34 of Mount Airy, lost her battle with addiction on Wednesday March 6, 2024. She was born October 23, 1989, in Forsyth County to the late Mary Lynn Rose. Tiffin had five children, Jacob, Miley, Andrew, Arabella, and Anthony. She loved them enough to know that she couldn’t care for them; a fact which broke her heart. Tiffin was born a beautiful and energetic child. She started life as a smiling little girl who needed love and guidance. Unfortunately, her childhood was scarred by poverty, neglect, and abuse. Her biological father subjected her to hell. The evil she endured at his hands shouldn’t even be imaginable to humankind. You see, no one wakes up one day and decides to waste their life. The allure and deceit of addiction comes at you in small steps with promises of acceptance or escape. It whispers of a temporary reprieve. The torment that comes once you’ve fallen into its grasp is agonizing and, for many, permanent. Tiffin is survived by her children, a sister, Amber Rose Spainhour, a brother, Joel Alexander Rose, and her nieces and nephews, Kamya, Alexandra, Brylee, Alex and Ryder. Tiffin loved them all. We will remember Tiffin for her love, her infectious laughter, and her dedication to our mother. Without doubt, we’ll also remember that the experiences through which she lived created a fighter. She was ready to “throw down” as needed and sometimes, even when it wasn’t needed! On Sunday, March 17, 2024, four months from the date of her mother’s passing, we will commit her body to the earth. At 3:30pm, friends and family may gather in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery for a brief viewing and service, officiated by Pastor Eric Smith. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving Tiffin’s family.
