Catherine Eileen Sinclair Young

Mrs. Catherine Eileen Sinclair Young of Mount Airy, formerly of Artesia, NM, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Young was born August 26, 1935, in Cherryvale, KS, to the late Maynard Ambrose “Shorty” and Ethel Gertrude Harris-Bates Sinclair. She was a homemaker, worked with the Senior Center, and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Young is survived by three children, Richard Carter of Alamogordo, NM, Linda Brown and her husband, David, of Mount Airy, and Jolene Elsesser of Corvallis, MT; her grandchildren, Amy Gravely and her husband, Andy, Misty Carter, Rhonda Wilson, Melissa Brown, Eric Brown, Crystal Bell, and Michael Carter; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alice G. Jones of Potomac Falls, VA, and Phyllis and Robert Kincaid of Cisco TX. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Joe I. Young; and an infant son, Danny Lee Carter. A graveside service will be held at Skyline Memory Gardens on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Randy Edwards. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time to leave for the service.
