Cecil C. Gordon

Mr. Cecil C. Gordon, 90, of 106 Bushy Fork Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Gordon was born April 27, 1916, in Surry County, to the late Joseph Shepherd and Jettie Owens Gordon. He was retired from Renfro Corporation and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Airy. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Felton Godwin of Mount Airy; a daughter-in-law, Linda Gordon of Mount Airy; three grandchildren and spouses, Penny and Paul Blake of Winston-Salem, Neil and Beth Gordon of Ararat, and Jonathan and Leanne Webb of Mount Airy; three great grandchildren, Katherine Gordon and Samuel Gordon, both of Ararat, and Macy Blake of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Thomas Gordon; a daughter, Sandra Leigh Gordon; a son, Curtis Weldon Gordon; a sister, Mary Cecil; and four brothers, Posie Gordon, Bud Gordon, Howard Gordon, and Mitchell Gordon. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 30, 2006, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Dr. Steve Lindsley, and burial will be in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
