Cecil Jackson "Claude" Young

Mr. Cecil Jackson "Claude" Young age 82 of 2412 Raven Rock Road, Ararat, VA husband of Mrs. Margaret Jean Eaton Young passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born July 8, 1926 in Patrick County, VA to the late Granville Jackson and Lillie Bowman Young. Mr. Young was a veteran of US Army having served during World War II. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Jean Young of the home, three daughters and sons-in-law, Rita Gale Cruise and Michael Callaghan, Germanton, Frankie Y. and Kenneth Easter, Mt. Airy, Paulette Y. and Jeffrey Hunter, Mt. Airy, three sons and daughters-in-law, Wade Leon and Karen Young, Mt. Airy, Paul and Pam Young, Ararat, VA, Jay and Kari Scales Young, Walkertown, five grandchildren and their spouses, Alex and Joann Young, Mt. Pleasant, SC, Shane Cruise, Raleigh, Amanda Cruise, Winston-Salem, Brittany and Joey Becerra, Houston, TX, and Paige Hunter, Mt. Airy, two sisters, Dorothy Rena Taylor, East Bend, and Mildred Montgomery, Wilmington, DE, and a brother, William Henry Young, Ararat, VA. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Young Family Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Post 2019 Mt. Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends 9:30 AM Thursday until time for Mr. Young to be carried to the cemetery for the graveside service.
