Celeste Rachel Hart

Mrs. Celeste Rachel Edwards Hart, 81, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Surry County on March 20, 1940, to the late Foy Lee and Stella May Mayes Edwards. Mrs. Hart was a retired clerk from Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant in GA., and a member of Ladonia Baptist Church. In her retirement years, Mrs. Hart was an avid quilter, and quilted hundreds of quilts for her family and friends. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Hart Overly and Jesse, Michele Hart Holmes and Ted; sons and daughters-in-law, Noah Edwin Hart, II and Dovie, Matthew Lee Hart and Amanda; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Edwin Hart; sisters, Peggy Crawford, and Sarah Lou Edwards. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Ladonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Hart family.
