Celia Lemantha Lowe Lowe

Mrs. Celia Lemantha Lowe Lowe, 90, of 130 Waite Road, Lowgap, passed away Friday, July 13, 2007, at Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy. Mrs. Lowe was born August 21, 1916, in Surry County, to the late Mahlon and Ida Evans Lowe. She retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a member of Coleman Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by nine nieces, Hilda Arnder, Shirley Hooker, Pauline Puckett, Eva Smith, and Kathleen McCraw, all of Mount Airy, Lorene Hooker of Williamsburg, VA, Audene Moxley of Fancy Gap, VA, Colene Ring of Claudville, VA, and Sheila Massey of Cornelius; and three nephews, John R. Lowe of Mount Airy, Arnold Parker of Durham, and Ruger Parker of Emerald Isle. In addition to the her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Edmond Lowe; four sisters, Litha Lowe, Levora Moxley, Levina Smith, and Launa Parker; two brothers, Hardy Lowe and Crissie E. Lowe; a niece, Estelene Hodges; and four nephews, Olen Lowe, Roy Lee Lowe, Arless Parker, and Eugene Moxley. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 16, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Elder Kenneth Hopkins, and burial will follow in the Fisher Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home and immediately following the service at the home of Hilda and Alfred Arnder, 970 Sparger Road, Mount Airy.
