Miss Celia Frances Reece, 90, of 169 Myers Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, March 29, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born October 21, 1918, in Surry County, to the late John Walter and Emma Shinault Reece. She retired from Renfro Corporation after 38 years of service and was a 50 year member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she served in various capacities. Surviving are a niece and her husband, Leona Gray and Bob Banks of Mount Airy; a nephew, John William Gray of Asheboro; a great niece and her husband, Robin and Eddie Gammons of Mount Airy; three great nephews and their wives, Eric and Rhonda Gray of Asheboro, Chris and Cheri Gray of Blacksburg, VA, and Adam Gray of Greensboro; a great-great nephew, Chase Gammons of Mount Airy; and six great-great nieces, Emily Gammons of Mount Airy, Jordan Gray of Asheboro, Alex, Olivia, Brianna, and Julia Gray, all of Blacksburg, VA. In addition to her parents, Miss Reece was preceded in death by a sister, Lela Reece Gray. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Dobson City Cemetery, with the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the home of Leona and Bob Banks, 460 Lovers Lane, Mount Airy.
