Charles Henry Blackard

Mr. Charles Henry Blackard age 44 of 27 Mobile Manor, Bassett, VA died on
Thursday September, 18, 2008 as a result of an ATV accident. Mr. Blackard was born in Surry County, NC to Charles William Blackard and the late Lelia Mae East Blackard. He attended Patrick County High School and while a young man he attended The Church of Christ in Dry Pond, he was an avid Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan, he loved dirt track racing, and was a concrete specialist in construction work. In addition to his father William Blackard he is survived by his step-mother Doris Haden/Blackard both of Woolwine, VA, One son Charles Allen Blackard of Bassett, VA, two daughters Kasey Marie Blackard of Woolwine, VA Rachel Lynn Blackard of Bassett, VA two sisters Karen B. Hopkins of Stuart, VA, Lisa and John Hooker of Claudville, VA three step-sisters Dorinda Clark, and Darla Haden of Woolwine, VA and Laura Anglin, of Hardy, VA. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Mitchell Lane Williams, Lauren Marie Blackard and Chloe Grace Blackard, a grandmother; Pearl Blackard and several aunts and uncles, a nephew and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Blackard will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with burial a Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of William and Doris Blackard.
