Charles Ray Cagle

Mr. Charles Ray Cagle, 72, of Cana, VA, passed away Thursday morning, March 6, 2025, at his home. Mr. Cagle was born December 1, 1952, in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late Raymond and Essie Hawks Cagle. For many years, Ray ran a local fruit stand, sharing his love for fresh produce with everyone who visited. It was not just the sweet, ripe fruits that drew people in but the genuine smiles and friendly conversations that made each visit feel like a moment of connection. Whether it was a local neighbor or a passing traveler, Ray greeted everyone with open arms and a welcoming heart. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and the Rev. Chad Crotts; six grandchildren, Haley Doña, Chris Cagle, Timothy Cagle, Austin Cagle, Alexis Cagle, and Chelsey Cagle; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Cagle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rector and Linda Cagle and Bud and Kaye Cagle; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gina Willard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cagle was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Cagle; two sons, Donnie Cagle and Jonathan Cagle; a sister, Beverly Cagle; and two brothers, Michael Cagle and Randy Cagle. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Rise Above Worship Center, with the Rev. Chad Crotts officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
