Charles M. "Kit" Carson

Mr. Charles M. "Kit" Carson, 69, of 863 Carson Creek Road, Lowgap, passed away Sunday morning, December 7, 2008, at Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville. Mr. Carson was born April 17, 1939, in Surry County, to the late Charles Jackson and Dorothy Goings Carson. Kit was manager of Blue Ridge Evergreen Company for 30 years, served on the advisory board of North Surry High for more than 30 years, was co-partners with Wilcox Natural Products in Lowgap, and co-owner of Carson-Ramey Products. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Bryant Carson of the home; a son, Charles Antonio "Tony" Carson of Lowgap; a daughter, Jeanne Carson and husband, Tony Ramey, of Lowgap; three grandchildren, Charles Joseph "C.J." Carson, Carson Gray Ramey, and Caleb William Ramey, all of Lowgap; a sister, Betty Carson Cowing Miller and husband, Richard Miller, of Edinburg, VA; a nephew, Stephen Charles Cowing and wife, Marissa, of Florida; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Richardson and husband, McKinley Richardson, of Lowgap, Sandra Sexton and husband, Perry Sexton, of Shenandoah, VA; and a brother-in-law, Andrew Bryant and wife, Stephanie, of Buffalo Junction, VA. The funeral service will be held Monday, Decembe 8, 2008, at 7:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church, with the Rev. Russell Parson and the Rev. Joe Atkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will take place Tuesday, morning, December 9, 2008, at 11:00 at Carson-Hodges Family Cemetery in Lowgap.
