Mr. Charles Randolph "Randy" Eldridge, 63, of Dobson, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Mr. Eldridge was born in Surry County, September 18, 1946, to the late Floyd Wendell and Ival Quesinberry Eldridge. He was president of Professional Roofing Services and a dedicated member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. He was a 1964 graduate of Mount Airy High School and attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Eldridge served our country during the Vietnam War and was a true American. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Leslie Kirkman Eldridge of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Gray Haymore of Dobson; two nieces and their spouses, Candy and Trevar Johnson of Dobson and Molly and Fred Fisher of Lexington, KY; two great-nephews, Bailey Johnson and Brody Johnson; and many very special friends. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Salem Fork Baptist Church, by the Rev. Tom Parker and Honorary Minister Rev. Van Brindle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home, where his body will remain until the time to be carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Fork Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 491, Dobson, NC 27017.
