Charles Gray Gillespie

Mr. Charles Gray Gillespie, age 55, of Mt. Airy the husband of Claudia Ann Whitaker Gillespie, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday morning July 26, 2006. He was born in Surry County on June 19, 1951 to the late Earlis Spencer Gillespie and the late Odessa Martin Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie was employed by Surry County Animal Control as a Supervisor with 32 years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are his wife, Claudia Ann Whitaker Gillespie of the home, one son and special friend Christopher Gray Gillespie and Carolyn J. Stillman of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren Meghan Savannah Gillespie, Christopher Isaiah Gillespie, Taylor Kristine Hawks; one sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Kenneth Gwyn of Mt. Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law Clark and Frances Gillespie of Dobson, Cecil and Robin Gillespie of Pinnacle; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Herman Hall of Siloam, Peggy and Max Wall of Siloam, Doris and John Darrow of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. Bro. John Snow will officiate the service.
