Charles Jay Hicks

Mr. Charles Jay Hicks, 69, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born September 29, 1941, in Surry County, to the late Joseph Owen and Vergie Elizabeth Roberts Hicks. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Darrell Rogers of Lowgap; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian Hicks and Greg and Glenna Hicks, all of Mount Airy; two grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Southern of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Linda Hicks of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Branch; and a brother, Tom Hicks. A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011, at 2:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Hicks family.
