Charles Edward Hutchens, III

Mr. Charles Edward Hutchens, III, 71, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, December 21, 2015, at his home. Mr. Hutchens was born February 29, 1944, in Surry County, to the late Charles Edward Hutchens, Jr. and Carolyn Genevieve Davis Hutchens. He was a self-employed contractor for many years. He is survived by his wife, Jewel Vernon Hutchens of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles Edward Hutchens, IV of Winston-Salem, Kenion and Anita Hutchens of Mount Airy, and Jonathan and Lena Hutchens of Winston-Salem; and five grandchildren, Kelsey Hutchens, Aerika Hutchens, Blake Hutchens, Brenden Hutchens, and Ellie Hutchens. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Sam McCracken and Stephen Jayne officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
