Charles Franklin (Frank) Lowry, Jr

Mr. Charles Franklin (Frank) Lowry, Jr.,65 of 205 Quesinberry Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007, at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Lowry was born in Surry County, North Carolina on September 25, 1941 to Charles Franklin Lowry, Sr., and Ruth Brintle Lowry. Mr. Lowry, along with his father, owned and operated Lowry Insurance Agency located in Mount Airy for thirty-five years. As an active member of the community, Mr. Lowry served as a Mount Airy City Commissioner for ten years, participated for many years with the Mount Airy Youth Foundation, volunteered with the Boy Scouts program at Central United Methodist Church and coached the North Main Bears, a little league football team. Mr. Lowry was a graduate of Mount Airy Senior High School and Guilford College. Mr. Lowry is survived by his father, Charles Franklin Lowry, Sr., of Mount Airy; a son, Scott Franklin Lowry of Mount Airy; a daughter, Elizabeth Lowry Moore and her husband, Justin of Mount Airy; a grandson, Charles Ransey (Chase) Moore of Mount Airy. Also surviving, is a cousin Jennie Lowry Caudill, from whom Mr. Lowry received care, comfort and assistance during the past several years. Mr. Lowry was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Brintle Lowry. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 9, 2007, at 11:00 A.M., at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with the service conducted by Rev. Valdimir Strejcek, with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The Lowry family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
