Charles Leon Loye

Mr. Charles Leon Loye, age 83 of Cana, Virginia passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Galax Health and Rehabilitation Center in Galax, Virginia.  Mr. Loye was born October 10, 1940, in Greensboro North Carolina, the second child born to the late Cicero Eugene and Evelyn Jordan Loye.  Charles enjoyed working in the Construction Contracting Business, which he did for many years, but he most enjoyed working on the farm.  He particularly enjoyed the Equestrian part of working on the farm raising, training and showing his horses.  For Charles, life on the farm always included a K-9 companion. As time went by, Charles got out of the equestrian life, but he always had at least one well trained K-9 companion throughout his life. Surviving is his son Charles Martin “Chip” Loye; daughter Doris Teal Capps; granddaughters Drew Loye and Mekenna Loye; a sister Myrtle Cornelia Fankhauser, a brother Carl Eugene Loye: many nieces and nephews; as well as long term friends and caregivers Larry and Ellie Watson. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Cicero Eugene Loye and Evelyn Jordan Loye Burns, as well a sister, Jewel Simerson Benson; and brothers,  Archie Jerome Simerson, and Banks Walter Loye.  Charles had an outgoing personality and will be missed by friends and family.  May he rest in eternal peace. No formal services will be held at this time.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
