Charles Ernest Norman

Mr. Charles Ernest Norman, age 84, of Elkin, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  He was born in Yadkin Co. on July 11, 1936 to the late William Ernest Norman and the late Mary Steelman Norman.  He was a retired Electrician, and a member and deacon of Union Cross Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He enjoyed fishing, reading his newspaper and spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beth Greenwood Norman; sister, Sue Eads; brother, Allen Norman.  Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Jerry Cave; grandchildren, Mary Beth and Jerry Lee Burcham, Jr.,  Jarrod and Madison Cave; great-grandchildren, Ryker Lee Burcham, Elizabeth Drew Burcham, Parker Andrew Cave, and one on the way; brother, Phillip Norman.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 31, 2020 in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Allen Horton and Rev. Tim Burton officiating.  His body will be placed in Union Cross Baptist Church on Saturday to lie in state for one hour before the graveside service. Being mindful of COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.    The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Union Cross Baptist Church c/o Virginia Stroud, 1993 Twin Oaks Rd. Elkin, NC 28621, or to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.  The family would like to thank his caregivers from Home Instead, Ernie Frazier and Cindy Bell, for always taking care of him, the ICU staff at Hugh Chatham and the loving staff at the Hospice Home in Dobson.
