Mr. Charles McNeil "Mack" Pardue, 82, of 108 Knob Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2013, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Pardue was born March 20, 1931, in Dickenson County, VA, the son of the late Ben and Ella Phillips Pardue. Mack retired from the U.S. Steele Mining Company after 30 years of service and was a longtime member of Bottom Road Tabernacle. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Craft Pardue of the home; five sons, Robert (Ashley) Pardue of the home, Danny (Karen) Cantrell of Richmond, VA, Donald Ellis of Hickory, Ricky (Libby) Ellis of Mount Airy, and Benjamin Pardue of Xenia, OH; nine daughters, Ella (Jerry) Haggerty of Leesburg, OH, Jeanette (John) Nagle of Huber Heights, OH, Jean (David) Rogers of Xenia, OH, and Cheryl (Greg) Cason of Xenia, OH, Charlotte Kidd of War Ridge, WV, Toby (Steve) McCann of War Ridge, WV, Denise (Danny) Garnes of Nags Head, Lori (Oscar) Ramkissoon of Gastonia, Teresa (Rick) Dillon of the home, and Elizabeth (John) Mosteller of Xenia, OH; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Bird of Waterville, OH, Molly Stevens of Waverly, OH, and Zona (Ralph) Shaw of Beaver, OH; a brother, Elewayne (Toma) Vanover of Springfield, OH; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pardue was preceded in death by two sons, Carlos G. Pardue and Billy Joe Pardue; two brothers, Sam Pardue and Benjamin Pardue; and a sister, Charlotte Bailey. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Maple Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Woody Flippen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Maple Springs Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
