Charles Edward "Ed" Parks

Mr. Charles Edward “Ed” Parks, 70, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, February 08, 2018 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Carroll County, VA on December 20, 1947 to the late Beaulah Parks Russell. Mr. Parks was employed at Cracker Barrel and all his life when he worked he said he worked for the lord, and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Ed always had a big smile every time you meet him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Parks of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and LeAnn Parks of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Katie, Timothy, Hannah, Jenna, and Jacob; step-sons and spouses, Chris and Rosetta Todd of Galax, VA, Anthony and Adrianne Todd of Fort Worth, TX, Tyler Warren of Charleston, SC; step grandchildren Dylan, Candice, Michaela, and Mackenzie; a half-sister, Juanita Schotthober and Ray of Roanoke, VA; a half-brother, Robert Parks and Gayle of Stockbridge, GA. In addition to his Mother, Mr. Parks was preceded in death by a half-brother, Larry Parks. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Fishel and Pastor Chuck Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Parks family.
