Charles Clayton Wagoner, Jr.

Mr. Charles Clayton Wagoner Jr., age 86, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy.  He was born on January 7, 1934 to the late Charles Clayton Wagoner, Sr. and Grace Alice Andrews Wagoner.  Mr. Wagoner worked and retired as a teacher from Surry County Schools.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty Wagoner of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Jonathan Doss, Mary and Kenneth Pope; grandchildren and spouses, Ben and Stephanie Doss, Ellen and Adam West, Luke and Abby Doss, William and Kathryn Pope, Lydia Pope, Julia and Jake McKay as well as seven great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents Mr. Wagoner was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Skyline Memory Gardens.
