Charles Wilburn Westbrook

Mr. Charles Wilburn Westbrook, 83, of Lowgap, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at his home. Mr. Westbrook was born August 10, 1926, in Corsicana, TX, to Taylor Clayton and Ima Marie Adams Westbrook. He served our county in the United States Army and the United States Air Force during World War II. Mr. Westbrook was retired from Zarsky Lumber in Corpus Christi, TX. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol Ann Hay of Peterhead, Scotland, Joni and Bart McGuire of Lowgap, and Virginia and Randy Pullin of Hutto, TX; four sons and a daughter-in-law, James Westbrook of Dallas, TX, Robert and Roni Westbrook of West Salem, WI, Charles Scott Westbrook and David M. Reed, both of Corpus Christi, TX; fourteen grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert B. Westbrook, William F. and Doris Westbrook, and Gerry Westbrook. In addition to his parents, Mr. Westbrook was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Bell Westbrook; and a brother, Taylor Clayton Westbrook, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Richard Buffkin and Rev. Todd Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends at the home on Friday night.
