Charlie Busick

Mr. Charlie Franklin Busick age 96 of Cana, VA widower of Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth (Polly) Goad Busick passed away Thursday night, August 10, 2006 at Surry Community Nursing Center in Mt. Airy, NC. He was born March 6, 1910, to the late Shelley Crawford and Rose Ann Busick. He was retired from Ararat Rock and was a member of Flat Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Hassie and Jerry Dawson, Mt. Airy, NC, sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jewell Busick of Mt. Airy, NC, Grover and Betty Busick, Westland MI, Wayne and Linda Busick, Cana, VA, Curtis and Carolyn Busick, Mount Airy, NC, Carl and Ann Busick, Cana, VA, Roy and Barbara Busick, Walnut Cove, NC and Marlene Busick, Newborn, GA, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Busick was preceded in death by two sons, Wade and Sam Busick, three grandchildren, Charles Busick, Tammy Busick and Eugene Busick; a sister, Pearl Vaughn, two brothers, Earnest Busick and Monroe Busick. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 14, 2006 at Flat Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and Rev. Lee Boyette. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy where his body will remain until time for it to be carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.
