Charlie Jarvis, Jr

Mr. Charlie Jarvis, Jr. 90, of 106 Grant Street Dobson, NC passed away Thursday February 1, 2007. He was born in Surry County the son of Bessie Allen and Charlie Jarvis. He was a WWII U. S. Army Veteran and retired from Adams Millis Corporation after many years of service. Charlie is preceded in death by two brothers, Wade Davis , Fred Davis; a daughter, Kathryn Penn; a son Charles (Alton) Jarvis; one great-granddaughter, Nicloe Green. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of sixty nine years, Robena Jarvis; two daughters, Doris E. Green of Forestville, MD. and Shelia Jarvis of Charlotte, NC; one son Donnie Jarvis of Dobson, NC; a grandson (adopted son) Sanchez Jarvis of the home; a daughter-in-law Virginia Jarvis; two sisters-in-law Maybelle Davis and Helen Davis; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be conducted Wednesday February 7, 2007 at 2 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Juanita Tatum and Elder Arvil Cockerham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Dobson Cemetery with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mtn. Post 9436.
