Charlie Thomas Sexton

Mr. Charlie Thomas Sexton, 89, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Sunday morning, February 25, 2018, at his home. Mr. Sexton was born July 16, 1928, in Grayson County, VA, one of seven children born to the late John and Effie Mae Puckett Sexton. Charlie retired from Billy Hicks Construction Company and attended Little Mountain Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Evelyn S. “Ginger” Quesinberry of Mount Airy; a son, Joey Gray Bullins of the home; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond and Naomi Sexton of Alvarado, TX, and David Sexton of Covington, TX; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Mecie Elizabeth Bowman Pack; a son-in-law, Ralph W. “Joe” Quesinberry; a sister, Rosa Virginia Sexton Creed; and three brothers, Samuel Gentry Sexton, Herbert William Sexton, and John Chapman Sexton. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Pastor Jerry King officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
