Charlie Harry Thomas

Mr. Charlie Harry Thomas, 79 of Mount Airy, passed away on Wednesday evening December 21, 2016 at Central Continuing Care. He was born in Patrick Co. on March 12, 1937 to the late Charlie Oscar Thomas and Dora Green Thomas. Mr. Thomas was of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Wyomma “Toni” Jones Thomas of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Oscar Ray Thomas and Diane of Cana; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bertha Williams and Nick of Cana, Dora May Casstevens and Harold of Mount Airy, and Wyomma “Sissy” Surratt and Jeffery of Lambsburg; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Janice Sechrist of Mount Airy; a special nephew, Dennis Thomas of Mount Airy; and special friends, Emerson “Chinky” and Bonnie Collins; and a special furry friend, Precious Angel. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Camet Dean Thomas; two brothers and five sisters. There will a celebration of life for Mr. Thomas on Saturday December 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Country Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Davis and Rev. Ewell Bernon. The family will receive friends at the home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home and the staff of Central Continuing Care for the love and compassion shown to Mr. Thomas during his illness. Memorial donations may be made to The Thomas Family, 409 Orchard St, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with final expenses.
