Charlie Harold Wall

Mr. Charlie Harold Wall, 81, of Pinnacle, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Wall was born December 29, 1942, in Surry County, one of seven children born to the late Lester and Betty W. Wall. Charlie was a devoted member of Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon and dedicated his life to helping others. His faith, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. For over 15 years, Charlie was a proud truck driver, spending countless hours on the road providing for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the many stories he shared about his journeys. After retiring from his career in trucking, he found a new joy in driving a school bus at Pinnacle Elementary School and Chestnut Grove Middle School, where he continued to touch the lives of children in the community. His warm smile, gentle nature, and unwavering commitment to safety made him a beloved figure among students, parents, and staff alike. Charlie had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He loved the game of golf, spending many enjoyable afternoons on the course with friends and family. His love for the game was matched only by his fondness for Little Debbie cakes, a treat he never turned down. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rubie Collins Wall; a son-in-law, Greg Inman; two granddaughters, Britney Inman and Mary Inman; a bonus granddaughter, Jasmine Smith; a sister, JoAnn Whittington; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Wall and Polly Wall; a brother-in-law, Ray Collins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wall was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Wall Inman; two sisters, Bonnie Snow and Mary Lee Ashburn; and three brothers, Lawrence Wall, Bob Wall, and Virgil Wall. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Stone and the Rev. Michael Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 844 Westlake Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
