Mr. Chester Lee Dollyhigh, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Dollyhigh was born September 30, 1934, in Surry County, to the Brady and Ethel Lambert Dollyhigh. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Brintle Electric. Chester was a member of Community Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Wall Dollyhigh of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Dean Strickland of Mount Airy and Deborah and Doug Agee of Loveland, OH; a son, Eddie Dollyhigh of Mount Airy; six grandchildren and a spouse, Brandi and John Watts of Pilot Mountain, Nick Agee, Scott Agee, Katie Agee, and Lynn Agee, all of Loveland, OH, and Landon Strickland of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jay Tilley of Mount Airy; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Pauline Dollyhigh, Bill and Brenda Dollyhigh, and Jack and Pam Dollyhigh, all of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dollyhigh was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Linda Dollyhigh; three sisters, Ruby Irene Dollyhigh, Gladys Childress, and Dorothy Shinault; and three brothers, Otis Dollyhigh, Gray Dollyhigh, and Archie Ray Dollyhigh. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Community Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joey Jessup, the Rev. Sammy Lawson, and Rev. Kenneth Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Community Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Our Father's Table, c/o Union Hill Friends Meeting, 2315 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
