Mr. Chester Lee Jenkins, 50, of Dobson, passed away at his home on Tuesday June 12, 2007 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on September 11, 1956 to Charlie Leo and Betty Joe Collins Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was retired from ECMD trucking and was a faithful member of Second Chance Church. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 23 years, Nancy Luella Childress Jenkins of the home; two sons Chester Lee Jenkins, Jr. and fiance Samantha Thomas and Johnny Ray Childress all of Dobson; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Tommy Small of Asheboro; his parents, Charlie Leo and Betty Joe Collins Jenkins of Dobson; five grandchildren, Justin Childress, Dana Small, Brandon Jenkins, Trish Small and Courtney Jenkins; four brothers and sister's-in-law, Rev. Steve L. and Tonya Jenkins of Jonesville, Rev. Buddy L. and Diane Jenkins, Rev. Dwight L. and Twana Jenkins and Roger L. Jenkins all of Dobson; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Leo Jenkins. Funeral services will held at 2 pm Friday at Second Chance Church with Rev. Terry Coe, Rev. Tim Jenkins, Rev. Alan Jenkins. Rev. Billy Joe Jenkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday night for regular night service and Thursday night from 6 to 9 pm. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Jenkins family.
