Christine Yvonne Hodges Brown

Mrs. Christine Hodges Brown, 52, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.  She was born in Surry County on January 28, 1970, to Nelda Faye Collins Hodges and the late William Mack Hodges, Sr.  Mrs. Brown was employed at Schwan’s Food Service and was of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter who will be dearly missed.  In addition to her mother, Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Richard “Brownie” Brown; her daughters, Samantha Brown of the home, Cindy Dawn Gwyn (Jason Canter) of Mocksville; a son, Christopher Lee Gwyn of Woodleaf; a step-son, Ricky Brown; her brother and sister-in-law, William Mack Hodges, Jr. and Gini of Mt. Airy; two grandchildren, Mason Canter and Kinslee Canter, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her father, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, Jonathan Michael “Mike” Hodges.  A funeral service will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Shining Light Baptist Church with the Rev. Elmo Hiatt officiating.  Burial will follow in Shining Light Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the ICU nursing staff at Rowan Medical Center for the care given to Christine.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Brown family.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
