Mrs. Christine Joyce Dressman, 78, of 2082 Cynthia Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born November 22, 1931, in Lavale, MD, to the late Edward and Agnes Lyons Joyce. She was a registered nurse, having worked at Northern Hospital of Surry County and Guardian Care in Elkin. Mrs. Dressman was a member and past president of the Mount Airy Lady Lions Club and a member of Columbiettes at Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, William David Dressman of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Ronald Whited of Houston, TX, Patricia and Alan Cain of Asheville, and Teresa and William Remaley of Walkertown; a son, Michael Dressman of Ashburn, VA; five grandchildren, Samantha Whited of Baton Rouge, LA, Alexandria Whited of Houston, TX, Devin Cain and Megan Cain, both of Asheville, and Heather Dressman of Gaithersburg, MD; and a sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Max Lidl of Novena, CA. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 17, 2010, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with Father Eric Kowalski officiating. Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
