Christine Johnson

Mrs. Christine Johnson, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, March 4, 2020.  She was born in Horry County, SC, July 7, 1932 to the late Tolbert and Effie Suggs Grainger.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  Mrs. Johnson worked in various jobs throughout her career before working at Rays Starlite Restaurant where she retired.  She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Leslie Darlene Joyner; her sons and daughter-in-law, Willie Douglas and Judy Joyner, and Robert Joyner; four grandchildren, Dawn Potts, T.J. Joyner, Nicholas Joyner and Keenan Joyner; great-grandchildren, Alex Joyner, Austin Potts, Adam Potts, Summer Joyner and Payton Joyner; adopted grandchildren, Bobby James Lineback, Jr. and David Ray Lineback.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Johnson; and four brothers, Lloyd, Waldo, Sherwood and Joel Grainger.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 8, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS with Bishop John Bradley officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
