Christopher Allen Slate

Mr. Christopher Allen Slate, 40, of Mt. Airy passed Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Patrick County, VA on November 10, 1976 to Sheila Hemmings Hull and the late Timothy Allen Slate. In addition to his mother Mr. Slate is survived by his children, Morgan Slate, Lily Slate, and their mother Terri Patterson all of King; his step-father, Dale Hull of Mt. Airy; his sisters, Amber Mullins of Mt. Airy, and Whitney Slate Crawley of Richmond, VA; grandparents, Douglas and Sylvia Hemmings of Mt. Airy; nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special aunt and uncle, Karen Hemmings Burr and Dave of Mt. Airy. In addition to his father Mr. Slate was preceded in death by an uncle, Douglas Hemmings, Jr. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Young officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy and other times at the home of Karen Burr, 203 Oaklawn Rd., Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his children’s, Educational Fund, c/o Sheila Hull, 129 Whistlers Cove Court Apt 230, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
