Christopher Brannon Surratt

Mr. Christopher Brannon “Chris” Surratt, 55, of Charlotte, passed away early Sunday morning, February 23, 2025, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Mr. Surratt was born August 11, 1969, in Surry County, one of three sons born to the late Walter Wesley and Rachel Miller Surratt. Chris was reared in Mount Airy and graduated from North Surry High School in 1987. After his high school graduation, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and became a registered nurse. He touched countless lives through his career at Novant Health in Charlotte and will be remembered for his selfless compassion, boundless energy, and unwavering commitment to his patients. He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd and Angela Surratt and Derrick and Kim Surratt; his nieces and nephews, Vaughn Surratt, Kaylyn and Cody Maynard, Elizabeth and Travis Bohr, Ethan and Lauren Marion, Jared and Madeline Marion, Kate Surratt, Lauren Surratt, and Reagan Surratt; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Hadleigh Surratt, Miller Maynard, Nichola Marion, Booker Marion, Stetson Marion, and Elliette Marion. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
