Christopher DeWitt Tomlin

Mr. Christopher DeWitt Tomlin, 49, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Hoots Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Duvall County, FL, December 10, 1960, to Reba Elizabeth Norris Tomlin and the late John Timmons Tomlin. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jan Denise Gates Tomlin of the home; two daughters, Ashley Michelle Tomlin of Dobson and Heather Lynn Wright of Hamptonville; a son, Joshua Shane Wright; three grandchildren, Austin Tyler Wright, Tyler Allen Halstead, and Aaron Randall Wright; his mother, Reba Elizabeth Norris Tomlin of Melbourne, FL; three sisters, Diane Wood of Melbourne FL, Wanda McDermon of Crestview, FL, and Elizabeth Cook of Jacksonville, FL; and four brothers, Bill Tomlin of Farmville, SC, "Pete" Tomlin of Jacksonville, FL, Al Tomlin of Courtney, NC, and Danny Tomlin of Chipley, FL. In addition to his father, Mr. Tomlin was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Lineberry Wright. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday February 2, 2010, at Second Chance Church, by the Rev. Terry Coe. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Chris Tomlin Funeral Fund, c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 295, Dobson, NC 27017, to assist the family with expenses.
