Clade Ramey Young

Mr. Clade Ramey Young, 71, of Ararat, VA, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, at his home. Mr. Young was born October 3, 1936, in Patrick County, VA, to Thomas Lester and Lillian Watson Young. Mr. Young served in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1957 and retired from The Winston-Salem Journal. Surviving are a daughter, Jerri Aldridge of Claudville, VA; three sons, Ivan Young of Claudville, VA, and William "Willy" Darrell Young and Terry Young, both of Ararat, VA; six grandchildren, Chris Young, Brandon Young, Wes Aldridge, Bree Aldridge, John Aldridge, and Ashton Young; and a brother, Fred Young of Ararat, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Gates; and brothers, Gray Young, Ray Young and Pat Young. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Hunters Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Todd E. Byrd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Hunters Chapel, P.O.
