Clara W. Keene

Mrs. Clara W. Keene, age 90, formerly of Via Avenue, Stuart, passed away Monday, August 7, 2006 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on September 15, 1915 to the late Walter and Daisy Conway Wigington. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Keene was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Keene; three brothers, Aubrey, Leonard and Grover Wigington; and four sisters, Iva Dalton, Louvie Willard, Bertha Chappell and Alice Wigington. She wa a member of Stuart Baptist Church. Mrs. Keene is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Shirley Keene of Stuart; one daughter and friend, Edna K. Trent of Stuart and Charles Southern of Mount Airy, North Carolina; two grandsons and wives, Tony and Lena Trent of Stuart and Robbie and Robbin Lawrence of Lynchburg; one great-grandson and wife, Anthony and Shannon Trent of Stuart; and two great-granddaughters, Courtney and Whitney Wilson of Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Keene Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Stuart Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Hall officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Edna Trent at 112 Via Avenue, Stuart.
