Clara Jean Hice Moore

Mrs. Clara Jean Hice Moore, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mrs. Moore was born April 16, 1940, in Surry County, to the late Pate and Ima Todd Hice.  She loved working in her garden, taking care of her flowers, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memory are two daughters and a son-in-law, Tonya Moore and Teresa and David King; two grandchildren, Laken Harris and her husband, Jonathan, and Andrew King; and a special caregiver, Debbie Casstevens.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, James Blaine Moore; two sisters, Avadell Nunn and Louise Johnson; and a brother, John Hice.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tommy Shelton and the Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
