Mrs. Clara Watts Wagoner, age 103 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Wagoner was born in Stokes County to the late Richard Hillary and Mary Ellen Gunter Watts. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Airy Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Willie Ruth and Bobby Dollyhigh; Louise and Rev. Deward Scott all of Mt. Airy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Carolyn Wagoner; Richard "Skinny" and Verna Lee Wagoner all of Mt. Airy, Carroll and Foye Wagoner of Elkin; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Jug) Wagoner, Jr.; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Wagoner and Pauline Edwards; six brothers, Curtis, Elmer, Hillary, Mike, Bob and Charles Watts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Mt. Airy Christian Church conducted by Bro. Wayne Williamson and Bro. Devon Huss. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Mount Airy Christian Church. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Gardner, Surry Friends of Seniors and the staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County, skilled care unit for the wonderful care that was given to Mrs. Wagoner. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Airy Christian Church, 974 S Franklin Rd, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is assisting the Wagoner family.
