Mr. Clarence Folger “Nub” McCormick, 83, of Dobson, passed away Saturday morning, September 17, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. McCormick was born October 27, 1932, in Surry County, to the late Paul and Bertie Badgett McCormick. Nub was the owner of Dobson Trucking and he operated the business with his family. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by a half-brother, Jack McCormick. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gordon McCormick of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, DeAnne and David Haynes and Donna and Joey Tucker, all of Dobson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bob McCormick and Jimmy and Scarlett McCormick, all of Dobson; his grandchildren, Lindsay Tucker, Jade and Anthony Kiger, Jordon and Andrea Tucker, Hannah Haynes and her fiancé, Sean Johnson, Rob McCormick and Katie Caison, Chase McCormick, and Megan Mathis; and his great-grandchildren, Mason Kiger, Anistyn Kiger, and Jace Tucker. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 19, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Dobson First Baptist Church Fellowship Center. Entombment will follow in the Badgett Family Cemetery. Pastor Cory Honeycutt and the Rev. Bill Spurlin will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
