Claude Edwards Miles, Sr.

Mr. Claude Edward Miles, Sr. age 87 of Mount Airy passed away on September 25, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Miles was born on November 18, 1934, in Washington, DC to the late Chester and Evelyn Miles.  Claude was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and The United States Airforce.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy Miles Meo and husband John; Claudine Miles Viveiros and husband Brian; son and daughter-in-law, Claude Edward Miles, Jr. and wife Christine; three grandchildren, Randi Miles Rose, Claude Edward Miles, III and wife Melisa, Ryan Meo and wife Amber, Christopher Meo; five great-grandchildren, Jonathon Mitchel Rose, Cristopher Meo, Sofia Meo, Waylon Miles, Marlin Miles; one sister Gloria Miles, two  brothers, Timmy Miles, Tommy Miles; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Miles was preceded in death by wife, Beatrice Jane Bowman Miles.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Bowman Family Cemetery with Captain Ryan Meo officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by VFW Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has be entrusted with the arrangements.
