Mr. Claude “Monroe” Pack, age 66 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Pack was born on December 5, 1957, in Surry County to Beulah Hodge Pack and the late Claude Pack. Monroe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife, Melissa Upchurch Pack; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Pack Hooker and Chad; stepson, Jordan Taylor Upchurch; grandchildren, Jackson Hooker, Madelyn Hooker; his mother, Beulah Hodge Pack; sisters and brother-in-law, Ethel Pack Grimes and Cleve, Doris Pack; brothers and sister-in-law, Grady Pack and Teresa, Carl Pack; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Pack was preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie Ann Pack; sister, Wanda Louise Pack Shockley; and brothers, infant Albert Ray Pack, and Wallace Wayne Pack. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Pastor Chad Hooker officiating. No formal visitation will be held. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for all the compassionate care provided to Mr. Pack during his illness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with arrangements.
