Clayton Odell Fain

Mr. Clayton Odell Fain, age 84 of Stuart, Virginia passed at SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born in Patrick County on April 15, 1937 to the late Amos Eugene Fain and Eunice Rakes Fain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Juanita McPeake Fain; and one daughter, Delene Hope Curry. Clayton was a hard worker and enjoyed working at Lowe’s Grocery Store, Family Dollar, and the ABC Store in Stuart. He enjoyed sitting on his porch watching hummingbirds, tending to his tomato garden and browsing yard sales. He always made an effort to take the females in the family to work when there was snow. Clayton will be remembered for being a devoted husband, loving father, and caring Pawpaw.

Mr. Fain is survived by two daughters, Paulette Hodges and husband, Mark of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina and Dreama Fitzgerald and husband, Richard Lee of Stuart; three grandchildren, Kaécee Fitzgerald, Richard Clay Fitzgerald and wife, Kendal; and Corey Hodges and wife, Talacia; three great-grandchildren, Colton Douglas Fitzgerald, Owen Nash Fitzgerald, and Eden Douglas Hodges; one brother, William Fain of Patrick Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
All celebration of life services for Mr. Fain will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dreama Fitzgerald, 323 Dobyns Road, Stuart, Virginia 24171 in an effort to get a wheelchair accessible van.
