Clayton James Shinault

Mr. Clayton James Shinault, 65, of Dobson passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on April 14, 1948 to the late Henry James and Ethel Marie Wall Shinault. Mr. Shinault was a retired farmer and a dedicated member of Day Spring Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Verda Mae Linville Shinault, of the home; four children, Patricia Ann and Gary Cobler of Pilot Mountain, Melissa Shinault Dollyhigh and Johnny of Mount Airy, Barry Shinault and fiance, Tammy Mabe of Mount Airy, Ricky and Tina Shinault of Claudville, VA; seven step-children, Keith Reynolds of Pilot Mountain, Debbie and Brent Hole of Lawsonville, David and Sue Reynolds of Pilot Mountain, Diane Commander of King, Dennis and Nicole Reynolds of Mount Olive, Janice and David Brown of Beulah and Donnie and Mary Reynolds also of Beulah; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sixteen step-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Wayne Smith of Robbins, Thelma and William Key of Pilot Mountain and Teresa Kay and Benny DeHart of Traphill; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Calvin and Betty Shinault of Pilot Mountain and Roy Shinault and fiance Linda Reece of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Clayton Shinault; four brothers, Ronald, Donald, Kent and Doug Shinault; two sisters, Frankie Shelton and Marie Key. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at Day Spring Baptist Church by Bro. Roger Pickett with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
