Mrs. Cleo Vaughn Winkler, 93, passed away at RidgeCrest on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. She was the last of thirteen children born to Charles Walter “C. W.” Vaughn and Lucy Sutphin Vaughn. “Clo” lived most of her adult life in Maryland. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. It was her privilege and joy to work several years for the Methodist Church’s Board of Social Christian Concerns located in Washington, D.C. In addition to her parents and twelve siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wallace R. Winkler; and her daughter, Emily Chloe Winkler. She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Winkler Ravitz; her son-in-law, Scott. J. Ravitz; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet guests as part of a Celebration of Life at Central United Methodist Church on Monday, December 19, 2016, starting at 10:00 AM. A brief service will begin at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Winkler’s remains will be placed with those of her husband, Wallace, in the Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium.
