Clifton Edward "Red" Tate

Mr. Clifton Edward "Red" Tate age 58 of Cana, VA passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville after an extended illness. He was born in Carroll County, VA on August 20, 1948 to the late Lester Tate and Flora Ann Meredith Tate. Red was of the Baptist Faith and had retired from Proctor Silex in Mt. Airy. He was a loving husband, father and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Red is survived by his wife, Christine Gwyn Tate of the home, one son, Chad Tate and wife, Angie of Mt. Airy, two grandchildren, Bethany Holt and husband, Chris, and Courtney Tate, three sisters, Mageline Haynes, Zittie Gwyn and husband, Robert, and Joyce Ann Tate all of Cana, VA, three brothers, George Tate and wife, Lisa of Cana, VA, David Tate and wife, Brenda, Mt. Airy, Jake Tate and wife, Kathy of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 20, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Easter, Rev. Bobby Steele, Rev. C.L. Crotts and Rev. Richie Hanes officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Thursday night at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
