Clifton “Burnard” Willis

Clifton "Burnard" Willis, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Willis was born May 24, 1932, to the late Lawrence "Bud" and Zella Willis of Mount Airy. Before retirement, Mr. Willis and his wife operated The Allison Tree in Dobson many years. He is survived by his wife, Marie Johnson Willis of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis "Mac" and Betty Willis of Mount Airy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Gary Watson of Mount Airy and Abby and Tony Stanley of Dobson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clifton Willis and his fiancé, Lynn, of Mount Airy and Chris and Lisa Whitaker of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Heather Burge and her husband, Randy, of Claudville, VA, Gary Watson, Jr. and his wife, Vieng, of Spartanburg, SC, Katelyn Willis of Mount Airy, Courtney Greene and her fiancé, Taylor, of Mount Airy, and Christopher Whitaker and Sydni Whitaker, both of charlotte; three great-grandchildren, Summer Watson and Seth Watson, both of Spartanburg, SC, and Amelia Connor of Charlotte; and two nephews Freddy Willis and Greg Willis. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 14, 2010, from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Food Pantry in Dobson. There will be no other services held at this time for Mr. Willis.
