Clouis Louise Goad Smith

Mrs. Clouis Goad Smith, 90, was called home to be with her eternal Lord on August 25, 2023, with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Mt. Airy, NC and grew up in the Surry County area.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Pearl Goad and brothers Harvey, Louis, and Jimmy Goad.  She attended Mt. Airy City Schools and Ashmore Business College.  She was very active in her churches, Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church and Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church until declining health prevented her from doing so.  She was a faithful member in the ladies outreach programs, teaching Sunday School, and singing in the choir.  She was always faithful preparing food for the sick, praying, and visiting people in need.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Tommy Smith in 2013 and her loving son David in 2021.  Left to cherish her memory are one son Tim Smith of Mt. Airy, one daughter Sharon Lambeth (husband Terry) of Wilmington NC, daughter-in-law Wanda Smith of Martinsville, Virginia, three grandchildren, Kristy Myers ( husband Travis), Tim Smith, Jr. and Chad Lambeth ( wife Penny), three great grandchildren, one step grandchild, one sister-in-law, Virginia Goad, and several nieces and nephews.  She counted her church as her loving extended family as well.  She followed her husband to several places in North Carolina and southern Virginia to be by his side pastoring churches.  She was a godly wife and mother.  She loved her family and was always praying and caring for them.  She had many caring friends and a sweet loving nature to all who loved her.  She will be forever missed with her sweet spirit and generous nature.  Funeral services will be held at Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church on Tuesday August 29, 2023, at 2:00 with Visitation at the church at 1:00.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
