Clyde Jefferson McBride

Mr. Clyde Jefferson McBride, Sr., 76, of Mount Airy, passed away early Friday morning, June 26, 2020, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. McBride was born July 28, 1943, in Surry County, the younger of two sons born to the late Thomas Jefferson and Maggie Fulp McBride.  He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Diann McBride, David McBride, and Patty McBride; three grandchildren, Abby McBride, Jeb McBride, and Ashley McBride; a special grandson, Daniel McBride and fiancé Amy Stevens; five great-grandchildren, Aaron Westmoreland, Brayden McBride, and Corbin McBride, Jasper McBride, Laiden Thompson, as well as his beloved pet Houch.  In addition to his parents, Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Lee Tilley McBride; a son, Clyde Jefferson “Buck” McBride, Jr.; and a brother, Jeff Junior McBride.  Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at 11:00 AM at McBride Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Johnny Easter officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
