Clyde Martin

Mr. Clyde William Martin, 85, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Wythe County, Virginia, on April 8, 1936 to the late Lawrence Delbert Martin and Frances Lucinda Spencer.  Mr. Martin was retired from Moseley & Reece and was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church, he was a loving husband, father, pawpaw and old man. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Hensley and Roscoe; sons and daughter-in-law, Barry Lane Martin, and Anthony “Tony” William Martin and Sherry; nine grandchildren; Heather Thomas and Devin, Brandi Forrester and Kevin, Benjamin Hensley and Raven, John Hensley and Rebekah, Ann Martin, Hayley Martin, Christian Flippen, Austin Hensley, Ethan Stevens. Seven great grandchildren; Kaylee Thomas, Carson Thomas, Hunter Forrester, Shelby Martin, Carson Hensley, Seraphina Forrester, and Mayre Hensley. Sisters and brother-in-law, Dot McFall and Linda Aykers; brothers and sister-in-law, Glenn Martin and Martha; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Louise Mitchell Martin; a son, Gary Lee Martin; a grandchild, Amber Marie Martin; sisters, Josie Cooper, Betty Caviness, Mutt Worrell; brother, Cecil Martin; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Janie Mitchell.
